If you are planning to enroll in college or university abroad, then you will need to crack the IELTS Academic. As it is essential to clear the IELTS Academic with required band score before applying for Student Visa.

The IELTS Test has 4 parts:
- Writing (task 1 & 2)
- Reading
- Listening
- Speaking
Writing Task 1: Academic: In IELTS Academic you will be given 20 minutes to write 150 words, where you have to describe and analyze the data in one of the following:
- Bar chart
- Line graph
- Pie chart
- Table
- Diagram
Writing Task 1: General: In IELTS General you will be asked to write a letter. The format of the letter can be Formal, Semi-formal & Informal. However, you will get 20 minutes to complete task-1 in both test types.
The word limit for Task-1 is at least 150 words. In this word limit, You have to mention the below things:
- Introduction & Reason for writing a letter.
- Elaborate the issue, problem, or concern with valid facts.
- Pack the information with ending Sentences: Concluding lines with seeking more information.
Additionally: It is important to understand the Task Question! Make a Draft & Structure of the Answer. Similarly, Organize Your Ideas logically. •Use variety of sentences & Vocabulary. Proofread is a must at the end to eliminate the mistakes!! Moreover, the candidate is supposed to describe, summarize, and explain the information in his/her own words!
Writing task 2: General & Academic: In writing task 2, both General and Academic tasks are the same, here, you will get a Topic to write. The topic can be anything from social, cultural, environmental, and other problems. You will have to write at least 250 words in 40 minutes. Furthermore, it is cardinal to take care of sentence structure, coherence, connectivity, and logical sequence in both writing tasks.
Reading Task: Academic: In Academic Reading, your language ability will be assessed by 3 long passages increasing in difficulty. The topic often comes from journals, articles, and other literature sources. Experts opine that mostly topic comes from Technology, science, history, sociology etcetera.
Reading Task: General:
- 4 short passages increasing in length and difficulty
- More general /everyday style texts
- Texts related to social survival (advertisements, notices, etc.); workplace survival (job descriptions, employment contracts, etc.); general texts (newspapers, magazines, travel brochures, etc.)
Listening Test: you will hear 4 audio recordings and have to answer 40 questions. It lasts between 30-40 minutes.
Speaking test: you will be interviewed by an examiner. This test includes 3 parts: the interview, the short presentation, and the discussion. It lasts between 11-14 minutes.
